Today’s Verse: 1 Timothy 5:10
“She must be known for the good she has done: raising children, welcoming travelers into her home, serving the needs of God’s people, helping those in trouble, and using her life to do all kinds of good.”
1 Timothy 5:10 ERV
Two weeks ago, I shared on ‘Created In Christ Jesus for Good Works’. I highlighted that every individual was created with a unique purpose for the benefit of mankind. And although man’s unique nature at creation was corrupted by sin, stalling the actualization of one’s divine purpose, in Christ Jesus, a new nature is rebirthed and synced with God through the Holy Spirit. In this new state, no God-given purpose can be hindered- as being spiritually reborn serves as a realignment for fulfillment of destiny. This destiny and purpose is about doing good works as originally planned by God.
In Acts 10 verse 38, we read that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit for good works.
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
Acts 10:38 NKJV
Jesus’ ministry (good works) centered around doing good to people- healing the sick, feeding the hungry, helping where help was needed, preaching and teaching about the kingdom of God. He lived for humanity. His life was a life of doing good works.
From our text today, we see more expressions of good works – as a life fully devoted to people.
“She must be known for the good she has done: raising children, welcoming travelers into her home, serving the needs of God’s people, helping those in trouble, and using her life to do all kinds of good.”
1 Timothy 5:10 ERV
Friend, you were created to fulfill a divine purpose. You’ll only find that purpose in the Creator- in God. The Holy Spirit is your partner in fulfilling your purpose.
Have you found your purpose? It must be centered around people, not any form of personal or material gain.
“But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Hebrews 13:16 NKJV

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
