Yesterday I attended a 7-hour prayer retreat at Rhema Bible Training Center, Nigeria. I joined the last 3-4 hours of the program after attending a church service in my local assembly.
The last session of prayers focused on personal spiritual growth, progression and increase. As I prayed along, I began to sense that God was bringing me into a season of wealth and prosperity- indeed, there was a particular material supply that dropped in my spirit that was too good to be true. Yet I received it by faith and in thanksgiving , Halleluyah!
Then just before I would become overtaken by doubt, Luke 1:37-38 dropped in my spirit.
“And Mary said to the angel, How can this be, since I have no [intimacy with any man as a] husband? Then the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you [like a shining cloud]; and so the holy (pure, sinless) Thing (Offspring) which shall be born of you will be called the Son of God. [Exod. 40:34; Isa. 7:14.] And listen! Your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is now the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” Luke 1:34-37 AMPC
…”how can this be?”…..The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you”
Summary of Luke 1:34-37:-God will work it out in and through YOU; by His Spirit and Power!
Other scriptures that flooded my mind afterwards helped buttress the truth that there’s a divine power for Wealth Creation that comes from God.
See Isaiah 48:17-18 AMPC
“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way that you should go. Oh, that you had hearkened to My commandments! Then your peace and prosperity would have been like a flowing river, and your righteousness [the holiness and purity of the nation] like the [abundant] waves of the sea.”
Summary of Isaiah 48:17-18:– I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, I lead you in the way that will bring you prosperity and peace. All you need do is- listen to my voice, words, commands….Just follow my leading!

“But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
Summary of Deuteronomy 8:18: It is God who gives you Power To Get Wealth; and He is delighted to do it so as to Prove His Covenant (to you and others), as He promised the fathers/Godly leaders of the Old Testament.
How Will The Power To Get Wealth Manifest? How Will God Bring About Wealth Through You?
- He will guide you into endeavors and actions that bring wealth. You have to WORK – but primarily as God leads you
- God will lead you to places that where wealth flows like a river.
- As you follow His voice, leading and guidance, and work as He leads you, your prosperity will show forth
- Note: God will prosper you through the Works of your hands– so get working! (Psalm 90:17, Deuteronomy 28:12, Deuteronomy 30:9, 2 Thessalonians 3:10).
At the end of the prayers, one of the coordinators came up to disperse everyone with closing formalities. He said a particular scripture has been coming up in his spirit- Ephesians 3:20
“Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]– Ephesians 3:20 AMPC
Friends, don’t limit what God can do- He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above our thoughts and requests, Halleluyah.
So, my disposition right now is- ‘I am fully persuaded, excited and expectant of supernatural supply from my ever faithful Father.’ He’s done it before, once, twice, thrice, and He will do it again- in even greater dimension.
And so I have assumed the same position as Mary – “Be it unto me according to Your Word” (Luke 1:38)
“Then Mary said, Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said. And the angel left her. Luke 1:38 AMPC
