Today’s Text: Proverbs 11:24
“There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty.”
Proverbs 11:24 NKJV
The natural expectation with taking out of something is to have a reduction, not an increase. But today’s text boldly declares a reversal in that natural expectation.
The text communicates an experience of increasing increase following generosity…
“The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.”
Proverbs 11:24 MSG
How is it possible to be giving out and yet not have a depletion but an abundance?
It’s a Miracle- a situation where the natural course of an event is changed by a supernatural intervention. We will never understand how it works but we can wisely take advantage of this scriptural way out of poverty- to keep poverty out!
Because the same text and biblical principle shows that there’s a level of ‘withholding’, ‘savings’, stinginess that can make someone POOR- keep someone comfortably situated in poverty.
That would be a tragedy and a betrayal of Jesus’ sacrifice, intent and provision for us. Because He became poor on our behalf so that the door of poverty can be permanently shut in our lives.
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”
II Corinthians 8:9 NKJV
As with every biblical principle, faith is the key to appropriating every promise and profit that Jesus has made available. Faith believes, speaks, and acts according to the word of God.
“that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
Hebrews 6:12 NKJV
Friends, you can keep poverty out by becoming someone who scatters. Take advantage of multiple opportunities around you to give and be a liberal soul- kick poverty out!
Rich is better than Poor- Jesus thought so….
Choose Rich- it’s been paid for in full 😊
