Are you passionate about providing supportive care for elderly persons? Then you might be interested in GOF Elderly Persons Support Project.
One of our objectives at ‘Grace Obomanu Foundation’ (GOF) is to promote delivery of material, financial, emotional support for the elderly, young girls and under-privileged in communities. We are able to meet this objective among elderly persons through EPSP.
The GOF Elderly Persons Support Project is a one-year project targeted at select group of people aged 70years and above, living in underserved communities in Nigeria.

EPSP aims to identify individuals within the above stated age group who suffer from at least one chronic illness, are financially challenged, and may have been recently bereaved of their spouse.
EPSP will help them access healthcare, enjoy better personal care and support, and become part of a community that fosters healthy psycho-social connections.
In partnership with government approved health facilities, we will screen and select eligible beneficiaries, who will be subsequently supported over a period of one year, after which they will be weaned into the NHIS for continuity and sustainability.

EPSP will also collaborate with government facilities within the catchment area of beneficiaries to train health workers on geriatric care so as to enhance smooth transition and sustenance at the end of project tenure.
Some of the services provided free of charge to beneficiaries through the EPS Project include;
Monthly Home based care and support
Education on healthy aging

Quarterly Free medical consultations and treatment With monthly follow by health workers in partnering host facilities.
Quarterly Medical screening for some common chronic illnesses including diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease.

Monthly Personal care and support including provision of toiletries, walking sticks, ITN, hearing aids and eye care.
Nutritional care and periodic supply of foodstuffs.

Our Home Based Care support entails; assistance with managing medications and medical care, assessment and counseling on home safety, engagement in physical exercise and social interactions aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing.
Ultimately EPSP aims to settle each beneficiary into the NHIS for continuation of care and support at the end of one year.
