In the old covenant, God spoke to His people through prophets. In this new covenant and dispensation, God can still speak through prophets, however, You Do Not Need A Prophet to Hear God.
What makes you a child of God is that you have His nature- you are born of the Spirit of God. This commonality in nature with God was necessary to facilitate fellowship, communion and communication between God and man.
If God wants to communicate something to you, He is not going to make it sooo hard for you to hear Him and understand His leading. You just need to be tuned to His frequency. One way to remain tuned to God’s frequency is to speak in tongues regularly. Speaking in tongues sharpens your spirit and builds your faith.
You can hear God
You can know God’s leading
You can know what direction to turn, which way to go…..Because God leads His sons (Romans 8:14).
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Romans 8:14 NKJV
In addition to being born of God’s Spirit, you have the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
The Holy Spirit is our Guide (John 16:13), and truly there is nothing about our lives that isn’t captured in the Word of God. The Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
Jesus is committed to leading His sheep. His sheep Hear and Know His voice and as such they don’t follow the voice of a stranger….
"And when He brings out His own sheep, HE GOES BEFORE THEM; and the sheep FOLLOW him, for THEY KNOW HIS VOICE. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:4-5 NKJV
When we make a habit of spending time with Jesus (in His Word and through prayer), we are behaving as His true sheep; we familiarize ourselves with His voice and so hearing Him is not that difficult.
You don’t need anyone to hear God for you. God has made ample provision for you to hear Him.
And peradventure there are times when you still don’t know what God wants you to do, which direction He wants you to go, you should ASK Him. He gives WISDOM liberally to anyone who asks.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ASK of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” James 1:5-6.
