This is Part 3 of the study series; The Road To Financial Suffiiciency In Christ. We continue by considering the truth that we have been delivered from poverty. You can find Part 2 here.
Praise God! We are delivered from poverty!!
Question: How did we get delivered from poverty?
By accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; believing in your heart and confessing that Jesus is Lord with your mouth.
That’s right!
The day you become born again, you’re instantly delivered from sin (its penalty and power), from satan (his lordship and dominion) and from the curse of the law (spiritual death, sickness and poverty). Colossians 1:9-14, Ephesians 2:1-15, Colossians 2:13-15, Galatians 3:13-14.
Delivered from the Curse
I tell you, you want to see Galatians 3:13-14, it’s such an exciting portion of scripture…..
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV
Poverty is a part of the curse. And it was overcome through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
You are as delivered from poverty as you are delivered from sin. You are as delivered from sickness as you are delivered from sin. Halleluyah! If you say you are saved, then know also that you are healed and rich.
The same blood and sacrifice that saved us, also healed us and made us rich.
Praise the name of Jesus!
You have The Blessing!
You know it would have been okay if all Jesus did was deliver us from the curse of the law, we would be without sin, sickness and poverty. That would have been awesome, don’t you think?
But no, He didn’t stop there, He didn’t leave us bare and empty to go fend for ourselves, no, He gave us The Blessing in place of the curse.
“Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified); [Deut. 21:23.] To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit.“
Galatians 3:13-14 AMPC
The Blessing is an empowerment to prosper; to prosper physically and spiritually (Proverbs 10:22, Genesis 1:28, Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 24:35).
He became the curse, and He gave us the blessing. The moment we receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the curse leaves, and hey! the blessing comes upon us. And not any other kind of blessing but The Blessing of Abraham.

And you should also read on “How to Activate The Blessing“ here….https://graceobomanu.com/2021/08/06/3-essential-elements-of-victorious-christian-living-xvii/
From the study on “How to Activate the Blessing” you will learn that every believer in Christ Jesus is a carrier of the blessing, and you can activate it by being generous, setting your hands to work, confessing the blessing, being sensitive to the leading of the Spirit and more.
Halleluyah!!! The curse was done away with; we have the blessing. Sin was done away with, we have righteousness. Sickness and disease were done away with, we have health and healing. Poverty was done away with, we are rich and wealthy. The dominion satan had overcome us was broken, erased, abolished; we are free!
The Blessing of Abraham belongs to every believer in Christ Jesus and it is on us to make us rich-fruitful, multiplied and filling the earth.
It is the Blessing makes rich….
“It is the Lord’s blessing that brings wealth, and no hard work can add to it.”
Proverbs 10:22 ERV
It is the BLESSING that makes rich. The Blessing makes RICH. It is the Blessing that makes Rich.
And we activate the blessing with our words and actions of faith.
Abraham experienced the blessing through faith, obedience and patience. Isaiah 1:19 even tells us that much….
“If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land”
Isaiah 1:19 NKJV
Faith. Obedience. Patience.
Praise the Name of Jesus!
Someone might say, “look Grace, I don’t feel or look rich, what do I have to do?’
Well, what did you do to become saved? What do you do to stay in divine health? Believe in your heart, confess with your mouth! (Romans 109-10). Don’t stop confessing the blessing.
Make a practice of activating the blessing in your life every day. Be conscious of the blessing in your dealings, set your hands to work, be generous, be led by the Spirit of God.
Enjoy the Blessing. Keep the Word of God in your heart and mouth continually.
Shalom!
