Don’t Be Slothful about the Father’s Business

“He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer.“
Proverbs 18:9 NKJV

A slothful person is a lazy, indolent, inactive or idle person.

Proverbs 18:9 associates a slothful person with a destroyer, suggesting that being slothful is destructive.

Christians should not have any excuse to be identified with slothfulness; there is just too much Kingdom work to be done.

The Father’s Business beckons on us all everyday. This business consumed Jesus, He was totally committed to it. He was passionate about it, driven by it and He lived for it.

What are you doing about the Father’s Business?

The Father’s Business

“And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
Luke 2:49 NKJV

Jesus came to make the Father known, and that through Him (Christ), we might have eternal life.

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
John 17:3 NKJV

Jesus completed His mission, He delivered on His mandate. Now we enjoy true relationship with the Father and we enjoy sonship rights and privileges of being born of God. All because Jesus was committed to the Father’s Business.

There is no greater Kingdom work than that given in the great commission.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
Matthew 28:19 NKJV

Our job as Christians is therefore simple; to get others (unbelievers) to know the Father, and believe in Him through faith in Jesus Christ. Secondly, to be a continuous source of inspiration to other believers through our love and faith walk.

Any activity directed at getting people into the Kingdom of God is the Father’s Business.

Today make a commitment not be slothful about the Father’s Business. There is someone around you who needs to know that God loves them. And with the internet and social media, doing the great commission hasn’t been any easier.
