Yesterday, in ‘From Captivity to Greatness‘, we saw how God delivered His people from slavery and bondage in the land of Egypt, bringing them out with silver/gold, in health, in strength and with joy. We saw from Psalm 105:37 that there was none feeble among them. How is that even possible, after spending several years in captivity?
Well, Jesus did the same thing for us, when he died on the cross to take away the curse of sin. He took away sin, sickness, disease and death from us, giving us health, life, and all things that pertains to life and godliness.
I have shared before in Did Jesus have suicidal thoughts? how, I started having thoughts of self-harm after visiting a demonic site. The final liberation I received from that oppression was the day Jesus walked into a room where I lay in a dream/vision (not quite sure), and showed me Himself on a tree with all kinds of sharp objects piercing His entire body. Then He said ‘I carried it all’ That was the end of that problem.
In Matthew 8:17, we read that Jesus TOOK our infirmities and BORE our sicknesses.
“that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
Matthew 8:17 NKJV
Now let’s assume that you owed someone $20,000 and you couldn’t see how you’d offset that bill for the rest of your life. Now assume again, that a good Samaritan, a philanthropist, someone who has amassed a lot of wealth generously offers to pay off your debt, and does so. Suddenly you are debt-free. Is it likely that you’d go back to your previous creditor asking to remain a debtor to him? Unlikely.
Well, Jesus paid the full price for sickness and disease which came from satan. He TOOK THEM ALL AWAY. We don’t have to carry them anymore.
Stand in the place of your healing, insist on it, resist the devil, receive your healing, stay committed to being healed.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.“
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV
