If you want a quick summary of the accounts of the old testament from the time of Abraham to David’s, Psalm 105 is the place to go to 🙂
My interest is in verses 37-38…
“He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes. Egypt was glad when they departed, For the fear of them had fallen upon them.“
Psalms 105:37-38 NKJV
This gives a snapshot of Israel’s deliverance from captivity in Egypt by the Almighty God as He wrought through the hands of His servant Moses. The Lord turned captivity into captive; the Egyptians themselves in their obstinance perishing in no small magnitude at the Red Sea.
It was a great deliverance for God’s people. But now see what we read in Psalm 105: 37-38…. Yes, the Lord brought His people out of slavery, oppression and depression, hey! but that wasn’t all He did. Releasing them from Satan’s clutches was great, awesome, mighty, but see how He brought them out…..with silver/gold, ……with none feeble,…… with gladness. Hallelujah!!
Jehovah (my Father) brought His people out of captivity, slavery, bondage, depression, oppression WITH Wealth, in Health, in Strength and with Gladness (joy).
There is strength in gladness. Nehemiah 8:10. Sadness saps one of strength.
What a transformation! What a Change! What a Suddenness of reversal of circumstances! My Father (and your Father) did it. He doesn’t change. That’s just the way He is!
That is how He’s bringing you out. Because He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He doesn’t shift like shifting shadows, He doesn’t change. He is the same. He is the ‘I am that I am’. He is the great and mighty God.
He brought Israel out in His state of Will; with prosperity, in health and with gladness of heart. This is His will concerning you today….
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.“
III John 1:2 NKJV
Hey! they didn’t labour for any of the things they got….(their labour, suffering in captivity was probably good enough).
“He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness. He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, And they inherited the labor of the nations, That they might observe His statutes And keep His laws. Praise the Lord!“
Psalms 105:43-45 NKJV
This is surely better than Solomon thought…..when he said the best things of life is for a man to enjoy his labour in gladness …..
“Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God.”
Ecclesiastes 2:24 NKJV
Halleluyah!!!!
No labor, …..no stupid, aimless labour…….
……with Silver/gold,……..none feeble among them……and with gladness.
Thank You my Father!!❤
