4 Requirements for tackling demonic spirits
Requirements for tackling demons and diseases..
What are demons?
Demons are spirit beings who work antagonistic to God’s purpose and plans. They are destructive of God’s works and they fight God’s people. They are fallen angels and agents of the devil (2 Corinthians 12:7, Ephesians 1:9-10, Ephesians 7:12, Matthew 12:25-29, Matthew 25:41).
As spirit beings demons cannot legally operate on earth because they lack bodies. So they often take possession of human and animal bodies.
How did Jesus handle demons?
Throughout Jesus’ ministry, He handled demons by casting them out of the bodies they’re inhabiting (Matthew 8:28-32, Mark 1:23-28, Mark 1:25,
Casting out demons simply entails commanding them to get out of and leave the body of their hosts.
How did the disciples handle demons?
They commanded the demons to leave their hosts using the authority in the name of Jesus. In instances where they struggled to cast out the demons, Jesus told them they needed stronger faith, and even prayer and fasting in order to succeed (Mark 9:29, Matthew 17:14-21).

“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”
Luke 9:1-2 NKJV
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Mark 16:16-18 NKJV
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”
Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV
“Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:17-21 NKJV
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
