The phrase ‘a man after God’s own heart’, is used in the Bible to describe David in 1 Samuel 13: 14 and Acts 13:22…
“But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
I Samuel 13:14 NKJV
“And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.” Acts 13:22 NKJV
“What Does “A man after God’s Heart’ mean?
It speaks of a man who heart is devoted, committed and obedient to God and His word. It is instructive that despite David’s frailties and shortcomings, God would still describe him as ‘a man after His heart’. Indeed God doesn’t judge as man- for while man looks at outward appearances, achievements, wealth, etc, God looks at the heart.
This tells me that only God knows what’s in a man’s heart- He sees the good and the bad; meaning also that no man is capable of deceiving God.
Second Chronicles tells us that God is always on the lookout for hearts that are loyal, committed, yielded to Him.
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”
II Chronicles 16:9 NKJV
Why Is God Looking out for loyal hearts?
So that He might do them good.
He looks to do them good, to support and strengthen them.
What kind of heart do you have ?

What kind of heart do you have?
God sees, God knows and He is favorably disposed to supporting, strengthening, comforting the hearts that are sold out to Him.
