Don’t break the hedge around you.
Below is Satan’s question to God in response to God boasting about His servant Job….
“Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. Job 1:10 NKJV
God asked Satan in Job 1:8 NKJV
“Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
Friends
Can God say the same thing of you? Can He call you blameless, upright, one who fears God and shuns evil?
I cannot answer that question for you, only you can.
But if you can answer yes, to those attributes, then I want to let you know that God has
- Put a hedge around you
- Around your household
- Around all you have on every side..
- And addition, the works of your hands are blessed
- And your possessions are increasing.
The Blessing Is at Work in You..
You are certainly better than you were yesterday. God’s hand is upon you. The blessing is upon you, and evident in you. Even if it doesn’t seem that way to you, maybe because of the heights you’ve envisioned for yourself, I assure you that it is so. You are better than you were yesterday. For you cannot have the blessing and remain the same. There will be
- Increase
- Expansion
- Multiplication
Notice that even the adversary or enemy knows it. He knows that God is protecting you and increasing you. He saw it in Job’s life, hence his question; “Have you not put an hedge around him and blessed him?”
Halleluyah!!
There’s an hedge around you; the enemy sees it
What the enemy was actually saying was….because of this hedge of protection and the blessing you have put on him, my hands are tied, I CANNOT HARM HIM.
REMOVE IT, LET ME DEAL WITH HIM AND THEN SEE IF HE WILL NOT CAUSE YOU.
Friends
There’s an hedge around you, and I want you to know it.
Halleluyah!!
Are you living as the righteous?
You know someone can say; well I am in Christ Jesus, my righteousness is of Him. So my hedge is secure and cannot be tampered with by the enemy..
Well, that’s True.
But
Are you living a life befitting of the righteous? Are the fruits of righteousness evident in your life?
Philippians 1:11 tells us that exhibiting the fruits of righteousness brings glory and praise to God…
Philippians 1:9-11 NKJV
“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”
Important points to note from these verses….
- Approve the things that are excellent
- Be sincere and without offense (living pure and blameless life).
- Filled with the fruit of righteousness
- To the glory and praise of God
Halleluyah!!
Righteousness is not a cover for sin
Friend, Being righteous is not a cover to continue to live in and embrace sin. When you live like that As A Believer, you communicate that ….
- you do not fear or reverence God
- That’s why you readily embrace evil/sin
- You have no regard for God…..
If this is the life you’re living right now, I want you to know that…
- you are breaking the hedge God has put around you, your household, possessions.
- You are limiting the effectiveness and expression of the blessing in your life.
- And you’re exposing yourself to the adversary.
- The serpent will bite.
Friend,
Grace is Not an excuse for sin. Righteousness is not a cover for sin. We should also commit to Expressing the fruits of righteousness. Living a life of holiness.
Romans 6:1-2 says…
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? [2] Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
Sin was dealt with at calvary. Jesus settled the sin problem. Choosing to and continuing in sin as a child of God shows that
- you have no regard for God,
- That’s why instead of shunning evil, you are embracing it.
Friend living this way, means you are breaking the hedge God has put around you and the serpent will bite.
So what is it going to be?
Know that you are righteous
Live like the righteous
Bear the fruit of righteousness and holiness
Stay away from sin
Stay away from evil
Protect and preserve the hedge God has put around you.
Prayer
Father, thank You for who you are to me.
Thank You for your protection and blessing
Help me to always remember that I am fortified from within and without
You are the Greater One In Me
And You also protect me from outside.
You put the blessing on me
Halleluyah
Thank You Lord
