The Lilies Are Better Dressed

Solomon succeeded David his father as king over Israel. Apart from having many wives and concubines, Solomon is known for his wisdom and riches. So Jesus’ conclusion in Matthew 6:29 that the lilies are better dressed than Solomon, is worth exploring.

According to Mathew 6:28, the lilies do no hard work; they neither toil nor spin, and according to Jesus God takes better care of them, dresses them so beautifully than someone as rich as Solomon could ever dress himself.

How well and expensively dressed do you think Solomon was? Well, according to Jesus, the lilies are more beautifully adorned than Solomon in his best dressed state. Think about that for a moment!

Friend, God can take care of you more than you could ever take care of yourself.

Don’t stress, worry, become desperate or anxious about food, clothing, having a good life. Even though the lilies never overwork themselves, I believe that they weren’t outrightly jobless; they must be playing a vital role in the ecosystem.

So find what you can do and do it, then trust God for the best.
