One of the ways God spoke to His people in the old covenant, was through prophets. Prophecy is useful, it comes from God to edify, exhort and comfort God’s people (1 Corinthians 14:3). In this new covenant and dispensation, God still speaks through prophets, however, You Do Not Need A Prophet to Hear God.
What makes you a child of God is that you have His nature- you are born of the Spirit of God.
And this commonality in nature was necessary to facilitate fellowship, communion and communication between God and man.
If God wants to communicate something to you, He is not going to make it so hard for you to hear Him and understand His leading. You just need to be tuned to His frequency.
You can hear God
You can know God’s leading
You can know what direction to turn, which way to go…..Because God leads His sons (Romans 8:14).
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Romans 8:14 NKJV
Psalm 32 verse 8 reads;
“The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalms 32:8 NLT
Friend, God is interested and committed to leading you.
In addition to being born of God’s Spirit and having that inner leading, we have the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to direct our paths.
The Holy Spirit is our Guide (John 16:13) and the Word truly captures the essence of man’s existence; there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Anything you think you’ve heard from from God that contradicts His Word is not from Him.
Jesus is committed to leading His sheep. According to Him, His voice doesn’t communicate strangeness to His sheep, they can differentiate His voice from a stranger’s without difficulty (John 10:4-5). The sheep that spends time with the shepherd has no difficulty identifying and following the shepherd’s voice or cues.
You don’t need anyone to hear God for you. God has made ample provision for you to hear Him. And peradventure there are times when you still don’t know what God wants you to do, which direction He wants you to go, you should ASK Him. He gives WISDOM liberally to anyone who asks (James 1:5-6).
Halleluyah!
