Put on The Whole Armor of God (II)

Child of God any time you record a victory, hit a milestone or attain a great achievement, the adversary of our faith will attack. Sure he roams around, always seeking whom to devour, however any significant success (in your life or ministry), attracts him even more to you. He may thug at your flesh (directly or through people), stir up strife, attack your health, family or loved ones, etc. His whole aim is to distract you, alter your focus, weaken your faith, stop your progress and possibly stop the vision or eliminate you.

Despite all of Sanballat’s attempt to break Nehemiah’s focus, weaken his faith, and stop the work of God (as recorded in the book of Nehemiah), he failed woefully. Nehemiah kept his focus on the vision, drew his strength from God and wouldn’t rest until the glory of the wall surrounding Jerusalem was restored. In spite of strong oppositions, Nehemiah delivered the vision. You too can become unstoppable.

Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-12, tells us to put on the whole armor of God so that we can successfully withstand and overcome all the different tricks, pranks, and strategies of the evil one. Though the enemy may not always come directly at you, he loves to use people, just like in the case of Nehemiah.

In Part one of this article we described the whole armor of God and why we must stay covered in it at all times, and we identified the enemy of our faith and his stooges, noting with all certainty that Jesus already defeated them all. All we really need to do is stand firm in the victory that Jesus already won for us. We put on the whole armor of God at all times..

How do we put on the whole Armor of God ?

By faith; speaking, declaring, proclaiming and identifying with all that the armor represents.

Put on the helmet of salvation

I declare that I am born of God, I am a child of God. God is love and so I am made of love. When I am hated, abused, ridiculed, etc I will give back love.

I declare that I am a citizen of Heaven, the Father transplanted me from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light. I am light, I cannot be extinguished by darkness.

I share in and express all the attributes of God my Father.

Put on the breastplate of righteousness

I declare and maintain that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There’s no charge against me, no condemnation on me, the Father judges me ‘not guilty’. Because of Jesus, I can stand boldly before God, man, the enemy and circumstances of life.

Gird your loins with the truth of God’s Word

I declare that I am defined by the promises of God my Father. I am not identifiable with any word, description, situation or circumstances that the Father has not spoken of me. I am what the Word says I am and I can do what the Word says I can do.

Shod your feet with the gospel of peace

I declare that I have and enjoy the peace of Jesus. I am an agent of peace, I carry the peace of God and dissipate same wherever I go.

My Father hasn’t given me the spirit of fear; no, I have the spirit of love, of power, and of a sound mind.

Hold out the Shield of faith

I agree with God and speak His word over my life and affairs. Every fiery dart aimed at averted and thwarted by my words of faith. The Father’s faithfulness covers me, I am kept safe in the Father through Christ.

Wield the sword of the Spirit

I declare that the Word of God is living, powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. The Word of God represents Him, and so as I speak and proclaim God’s Word over all my affairs, I bring God fully into them. Nothing is greater than God, His Word represents Him and so every contrary situation bow to the spoken Word of God from my lips.

I will not cease to pray continually in the Spirit, making supplication for myself and for all the saints. I even pray for those who oppose and attempt to inhibit me, I ask that my Father will be merciful to them.

I am a victor. I am an overcomer. I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the words of my testimony.

Halleluyah!

Child of God, do not fall prey to the tricks of the enemy, neither yield yourself as a tool in his hands.

Put on the whole armor of God.
