You have probably read Mark 11:23 ten times and over, I have. You may have also probably written out Word-based faith confessions from this scripture, I have. You also may have taken bold faith steps inspired by Mark 11:23, I have. Question then is; ‘what’s new about Mark 11:23′? Say what you want….
Let’s look at this scripture again…
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
Mark 11:23 NKJV
We see the mechanics of faith explained in Mark 11:22-23. We are to also notice how Jesus handled the mountain, He spoke directly to it… “be removed and cast into the sea”.. This may seem unimportant but I see that it can also be easily neglected. Many times as Christians, we go around the ‘mountains’ instead of speaking directly to them.
For example…: “by His I am healed” is a Word-based faith confession informed by Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24 This confession is a foundation on which to declare; ‘I speak to you blood pressure normalize and I declare that my blood pressure is within normal limits in Jesus name’. ….’I declare that my brain cells function perfectly well, I read, understand, retain and remember the things I read in Jesus name‘. If we only keep saying ‘by the stripes of Jesus we are healed, God is my healer, He sent His Word and healed me’, etc, we have not spoken directly to any mountain. Jesus said to the mountain “be removed and be cast into the sea“. The confidence He had to say that came from Him knowing who He was while on earth and the power backing Him. That’s what the Word does for us- shows us our identity, rights and privileges so that based on these we can confidently claim victory.
Another example is someone quoting: “Christ became poor that I might be rich” (II Corinthians 8:9). Truth is; that Word is settled forever. But how does that affect your pocket? Let’s assume you need $100 to meet a need. How about specially asking the Father for $100, receiving same by faith and thanking the Father for it?
Remember 4:6?….
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” Philippians 4:6 NKJV
We should be specific with our request. Say What you want….
When we go round mountains instead of speaking to them directly, when we are not specific about what we want, we seem like a young man who goes before his wealthy earthly father, showering him with encomiums.. “daddy, I know that you are very wealthy, you own company ABC, you own a fleet of cars, you are rich, generous and kind, blablabla“. I believe that at some point, this rich, generous and kind father will interrupt this young man with a ‘what do you want’? 🙂
The beauty of being specific about what we want and say is that we can track and recognize changes around and within us when they occur. Not that we spoke out of doubt or unbelief but our faith is further boosted with each manifestation we experience. And trust me, the manifestations do come, the Bible says “he shall have what he says” and we know that the Word is true. God cannot lie, God and His Word are the same. So the Word cannot lie. Halleluyah!
Begin to say WHAT you want, believe that you have them and they shall manifest.
Halleluyah!
