Can you think of a situation that you’d really love to change right NOW? …… Something you wished was totally different. Say a health condition, the financial standing of a business, a not- so-good investment decision, piling bills, the spirituality of a loved one, repeated bad choices of your teenage child, etc, etc
I take it that the reason this particular situation has persisted is because there doesn’t seem to be much you can personally do to experience an immediate change.
Now assuming someone stepped in and suddenly changed the situation to exactly what you’d want it to be, what would be your reaction? Celebrations? Singing, praising and dancing? Relief? Gratitude? Unspeakable joy?
Well then, put on your dancing shoes because Today is the day of His power!
Psalm 110 verse 3
“Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.“
Psalms 110:3 KJV
This Psalm speaks of a sudden positive change to an unpleasant situation brought about by a force.
You know it is very tempting to read Psalm 110 and think in futuristic terms, because David was speaking of the manifestation of the Christ in the future. Well, that future is NOW. Today is the Day of His Power and your situation can turn around for good if you believe.
What power?
The same power that in Genesis 1:2, caused a sudden and permanent positive change to an otherwise chaotic situation..
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Genesis 1:2-3 KJV
The same power at Pentecost that turned the disciples into changed men…. changed and charged for exploits to the marvel and amazement of onlookers…
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?”
Acts 2:1-7 KJV
I announce to you that the light that takes away darkness is not stuck in Genesis chapter 1, no, that light is among us. And the Holy Spirit didn’t take permanent residence in the place where the disciples gathered in Acts 2, no, He is in us.
Notice that every change that took place when God created the earth, happened only after the Spirit of God brooded continually over the earth. That is the power you need for your desired positive change. That Spirit (and power) is here with us.
So what are you going to do about that situation? …. well, what did God do about the chaos in Genesis 1 (after the Spirit brooded?) He spoke His desires into existence.
I declare that Today is the Day of His Power. I begin to see positive changes in the areas of my life that looked chaotic or unsettled in Jesus Christ name.
Friends, in the day of the Lord’s power, things, situations, circumstances, turn around for good.
Make today that day.
“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.”
Psalms 126:1-2 KJV
