I see a lot of ‘Faith over Fear‘ preaching everywhere in the internet, TV and all around these days. Personally, I was encouraged by these teachings as the 2020 viral pandemic set in.
I want to believe some persons have gone past the initial crippling and tormenting feeling of fear COVID-19 ushered in. Question now is; what next? What are we doing with all the faith we mustered?
Faith is as simple as Hebrews 11:1 says it. The problem is with its actual application.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Now, looking at Hebrews 11:1 again, we see that faith has a target. A target can be simply defined as a place or point of aim usually from a baseline. A target is a focus, or an expected outcome.
In the following blogpost I share my most basic understanding of faith https://graceobomanu.com/faith-is-equal-to/
Faith is not mere words,… no, it is tangible, it is a substance. By faith we receive something that is supposedly in the future, in the present. We have it! Having it and holding on to it means we’re positioning ourselves in the future to fulfill it.
Of a truth, we stop living when we completely lose faith.
Recently, I asked someone for 2 reasons why he’d prefer to be alive rather than go be with The Lord. Maybe you want to answer that question for yourself. I’ve identified my 2 main reasons and I am so glad it doesn’t have much to do with me personally. There is a greater cause.
When you’ve identified and defined the focus of your faith, I pray you somehow situate other people in it. Because that’s the kind of faith that will sustain the Father’s Business.
We read in 2 Timothy 1:7 that;
“….God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/2ti.1.7.NKJV
The spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind is what we have from the Father instead of fear. And I dare say that ‘love and power’ (manifestations) are better appreciated when expressed for the good of others (selah).
One way to outlive COVID-19, is to have a substantive and self-less faith.
Stay Safe, in the Word & in the Covenant.
Love Always ❤
