A scripture has been on my mind from yesterday and I’ll like to briefly share it today.
“Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.”
Genesis 1:3-4 NKJV
At the very beginning, in the face of darkness and chaos, ‘Let There Be’ formed 8 things or groups things that keeps the world we live in today running. Everything was made for a purpose; …to serve our world. The Light separated the Day from the Night. The firmament divided the waters. The Dry land gave rise to the Earth and the Seas. Herbs and fruits (man’s food) resulted from the Grass. The Heavens and Earth stay lit up because of the lights (the sun, moon and stars). The Living Creatures in the sea, the birds and every living thing that moves must be fruitful, reproduce and multiply their kinds because the blessing was on them (Genesis 1:22). And out of the Earth came forth all living creatures on the earth; the cattle, creeping tings and beast of the earth. Man, created in the image of God must take care of all creatures, the birds of the air, the grass and man must exhibit fruitfulness as possessors of the blessing.
In the coming season, we can wake up each morning and mourn over the things we’d like to be different, or we can be like God our Father and create the world we desire by saying ‘Let There Be’.
Notice that God didn’t just voice a ‘Let There Be’ then go to sleep. God followed up on each of them. He followed up to ensure;
1. That they showed up (God saw it).
2. That they met His expectations
3. That they were good
4. That they were fit for purpose.
So here I am thinking ‘what darkness around me needs change? What undesirable situation do I want to change for good? What do I want to contribute to improve the lives and living experiences of others?
I must put my “Let There Be” to use in the new coming season. I must see to it that my creations come out good and fit for purpose.
What will you be creating in 2020? ?.
