Happy Resurrection Celebration Friends.
Jesus Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed! Halleluyah!
I am always excited about Easter because it’s a season when we’re reminded that our believing is not in vain. Christ died, was buried and raised from the dead by He who raises from the dead-The Father (John 5:21).
One scripture that has been on my mind for sometime now and one which I’d love to share this season is Romans 8:11
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
Romans 8:11 KJV
The most exciting word for me in Romans 11:8 is the word ‘quicken’ and i prefer to look at it from the perspective that means to activate, stimulate, incite, waken, rouse, strengthen.
These definitions suggest a prior state of dormancy, inactivity, weakness, sleep.
Reminds me of Genesis 2:7
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
Genesis 2:7 NKJV
Looking at Genesis 2:7, we can safely say that man was in a state of dormancy and inactivity until God breathed the breath of life into his nostrils. Man was not a living being until that happened.
So we see a similarity between Genesis 2:7 and Romans 8:11.
A previous inactive or dead body is made alive. ….Jesus’ dead body was made alive.
But there’s a big difference, and we see that in 1 Corinthians 15:45.
“And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”
1 Corinthians 15:45 NKJV
While the breath of life from God into Adam made him a ‘living being’-an entity capable of existing and communicating with his environment, the Spirit of God in us through
Jesus Christ remains a ‘life-giving spirit’ for us. A Spirit that is capable of giving life continuously to a being and capable of activating life.
This season, let us be reminded that;
1. The Spirit of him who raised Jesus Christ from the dead is alive in us (every Believer in Christ Jesus).
2. This Spirit is capable of wakening and rousing from any deadness, capable of strengthening any weakness, capable of activating from a state of dormancy.
3. This Spirit is capable of continuously giving life to our mortal bodies.
Halleluyah!
Thank You Father because your Spirit dwells in us. Your Spirit Quickens our mortal bodies from every deadness just as you quickened the body of your son Jesus Christ to life. And Your Spirit in us is a continuous supply of life to our bodies.
Thank You Faithful Father.
