It’s ridiculous sometimes how we try to keep secrets from God. We attempt to hide some of our thoughts from Him.
I caught myself a few days ago trying to explain to God why I responded to a recent incidence in a particular way. I was subconsciously trying to justify my actions to God. ‘Ridiculous!’ I later thought. Our secrets are bare before Him. So are mysteries, because He knows and sees all things.
“
Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.”
Psalms 44:21 NKJV.
As I grow older, the place of tact and wisdom in human relations is becoming increasingly obvious to me, and the Bible is all for it;
But you know as humans, we hide ignorance, disapprovals and sometimes lies under tact and wisdom.
King Nebuchadnezzar knew how deceptive human hearts could be (even though sometimes, human deceit can be intended to protect oneself rather than hurt another). Have you ever woken up from a dream whose details bothered and troubled you? I mean an emotionally and physically draining dream? Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel Chapter 2 left him disturbed, perturbed and sleep eluded him.
Reading through Daniel chapter 2, many would probably judge Nebuchadnezzar as inconsiderate and wicked. I personally felt that way somewhat. It is one thing to have a troubling dream and another thing to ask somebody else to attempt to recount it for you. People are more likely to try guesses around positive events like ‘
oh! You had a bouncing baby boy’ for a lady you know have been waiting to have a child. It is also easy to guess a dream of ‘
I know! you got a promotion’ for a friend you know have been trusting God for a raise. But truly, not many people want to guess a dream of ill-luck or misfortune for their acquaintances, definitely not for your boss, and especially not when your boss is King Nebuchadnezzar.
The astrologers, Sorcerers and Chaldeans wisely maintained that no one was capable of both revealing a dream and giving it’s interpretation. As it were, considering the king’s decree, their choices were limited. Quote a wrong dream, you die. Don’t volunteer any dream at all, you die. They chose the later.
Thank God for God, The Most High and Mighty One. The Discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The One who strategically positions His own where His power and wisdom are displayed. Many times He intentionally sets up a banquet before enemies just to show His sovereignty and by so doing project His own. The Greater One in us.
Having experienced God for Himself and proactively applying himself to study about God, Daniel was in no doubt that Jehovah could and would meet Nebuchadnezzar request. The Jehovah he has come to know, would do it. Daniel recognized His privileged position in Nebuchadnezzar’s dilemma and in confidence promised to bring the King an answer of peace.
Days later, Nebuchadnezzar also came to know Daniel’s God as “
the God of gods, Lord of kings, and a Revealer of secrets” (Daniel 2:47).
Nebuchadnezzar kept his promise in Chapter 2 Vs. 6, he gave Daniel gifts, rewards and great honor. Daniel was given rulership over the province of Babylon and its wise men.
……….
It was a daunting task to both know and interpret the King’s dream. Truly, only Jehovah could do that. And He did it
through Daniel.
Our knowledge and experiences of God prepare us to trust Him for greater things.
He is The Greater One in us. Impossible things become possible to us because with God nothing shall be impossible. He is in us working great wonders, miracles, displaying His power and wisdom, and lifting us up to the place of honor and glory.
“
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages FOR OUR GLORY which none of the rulers of this age knew; (……) But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”

I have shared before in a blogpost how a brother walked into my office one morning and completely changed my understanding of Ephesians 3:20;
God does ‘
exceedingly abundant above all’ according to His power
at work in us.
The Greater One is in us to do exceedingly abundant above all ….through us.
Wherever we find ourselves, we must stay confident (just like Daniel), that God is at work in us to display His power.
At work, The Greater One is in us.
At school, The Greater One is in us.
In our businesses, The Greater One is in us.
In all our hand finds to do (according to His divine plan). The Greater One is in us.
He is in us to manifest greatness, because a great God can only manifest greatness.
He is in us as the Revealer of mysteries and secrets, thus leading us to honor and glory.
Thank You Father❤.
