what is a miracle
Anita grew up admiring her mother. Her mom was pretty, smart, industrious and most importantly served God. She never missed weekdays or Sunday service days. And she made sure Anita and her 3 siblings attended all services as well.
As a young girl, Anita hoped to be exactly like her mom when she has her own home. Not until she watched her parents’ marriage crumble for simple misunderstandings she thought her mom could have contained. Why couldn’t her mother forgive her dad? Why was it her mom that moved out of the home? What happened with all the Bible she carried and taught them to live by? Didn’t she remember anything about forgiveness at all?
Anger, bitterness and resentment grew in Anita. As far as she was concerned, there was no point carrying on with this Christianity talk. If a devoted Christian like her mom couldn’t forgive, it was pointless continuing to profess being a Follower of Christ.
Anita wasn’t going to fool herself and other people like her mother did. She decided she was done with everything Church, so she tossed her Bible aside.
The Lord directed Anita to one of Talk with Grace Obomanu’s Counsellors. Talking and counselling with Anita made her see why she cannot put her Christianity and love for God in ‘Parking’ simply because her mother slipped. With a few sessions of talking with the TWGO Team, Anita once more appreciated the importance of a personal relationship with God.
Today, Anita is glad that she had someone to talk to, she’s fast rebuilding her relationship with God. And more importantly, she’s excited that things are going to be different this time because she’s going to know God for herself.
Praise God!

What is a Miracle ? 2
Rita has been married for 17 years with 2 teenage children.
The last 5 years have been anything but beautiful for her. Her husband James has been abusive (physically and verbally), he stopped her from working, he wouldn’t do any work himself either. How do they eat? Family, friends, any form of goodwill. James claims he has a call from God and spends most of his time chasing people around to sow seed into his life.
Rita had tried many times to leave her marriage but he wouldn’t let her. She didn’t know what to do. Life hasn’t been fair to her neither has God.
Then someone directed Rita to our online counselling group, Talk with Grace Obomanu (TWGO). Rita’s story began to change from then.
A look at James’s family history revealed that his father was exactly as he is. He was abusive, lazy and irresponsible. So obviously James’s problem was more complicated than it seemed, it had familial roots. This makes Rita’s case even more difficult, but God has a way.
James needs to make a total mind and behavior change. But how do we reach him considering it’s Rita coming for help?
Rita would have to make a decision at this point about her marriage, to leave or to stay.
While leaving may seem the easier and more attractive option, Rita didn’t want her children growing up without their father.
Staying meant she needed to do more work, on herself as well as for James.
First she must identify the things she does that upset him at least to forestall further physical abuse. She must identify her weaknesses and strengths as well as James’s. With a personality like James’ it can be trouble flagging his weaknesses, at least not at him. To get him to be more productive, his strengths have to be accentuated and he needs to be regularly reminded of them. That’s exactly what Rita did. She also moved back into the bedroom she once shared with her husband. Additionally, she resumed her wifely duties (not doing it for James but as unto The Lord). She located her Bible wherever she tossed it. She must rebuild her relationship with God and trust Him to fix her marriage.
As nicely as these may sound, these are not easy changes. But are possible when you do them in God, when you understand that agape means loving the unlovable unconditionally.
Rita took up the challenge, made these drastic changes and within one week her testimony was different. Her husband has never been as happy, calm and loving as she sees him now. He’s told her to go search for another job and he’s going to do same. He suddenly seems to have brilliant business ideas too. They even now pray and plan together.
Rita is grateful to God and to the TWGO Team for intervening in her situation.
Praise God!

What is a Miracle? 3
As Erica listened to Hope narrate a horrifying experience of how a neighbour’s dog attacked and wounded an innocent child who was playing around their home, it dawned on her what great deliverance she’d experienced few weeks ago.
Dogs are not Erica’s favorite pet. She can barely stand them. On this blessed morning as she took a walk, she suddenly came face to face with 3 giant dogs who’d sighted her from a distance and ran towards her. Play or fight, these dogs didn’t look friendly. And she’s stranger to them. What does she do now? Run, shout or stand still? If she tried to run from them, they’d outrun her and possibly harm her. She stood still as they reached her. God must have this under control, she thought.
Erica lived in a quiet serene neighborhood. It was still too early for anyone to be outside by 6.30am. Dogs don’t stroll casually and unattended within the estate, these ones must of sneaked out without their guards knowing. She started talking to the dogs, stroking their bodies. Was this the best reaction? Judging by the dogs incessant growling around her it may not be. Running away wasn’t either. Erica started shouting for help. But none came. She tried chasing the dogs away but they looked even more angry and dangerous. One, two, three, five minutes and more, the dogs were still around her, just moving around her and making angry sounds, also jumping around her. For some strange reasons, they didn’t bark, maybe that would have drawn some attention. But not today.
As Erica thought about how this could end up, fear took hold of her. She suddenly heard herself shout ‘JESUS’ and in that instant the 3 dogs walked away from her.
What a deliverance?
Not even a scratch on her body.
Praise God!

What is a Miracle?
Mary is in her early 40’s.
Exactly 10 months ago, she had a terrible scare; her doctor told her she was hypertensive. Her blood pressure on repeated measurements was over 160/100.
She was admitted for a few days and monitored.
It would have been good news for Mary that her doctor was considering placing her on very low dose antihypertensives for a short time considering that she also recently received a course of steroids for another health condition. According to the doctor, steroids can raise blood pressure.
But Mary was deeply concerned, her parents are hypertensive. Could this be familial?
As things turned out, Mary’s blood pressure normalized within one month. She was relieved and so was the doctor. And thinking it’s possibly the effects of the steroids had cleared, the doctor withdrew the antihypertensives.
Two months ago routine medical checkup revealed Mary’s blood pressure was about 170/110 again!
Mary was distraught. What was she going to do now? She can’t possibly start taking antihypertensives from her 40s and for the rest of her life.
Tossing and turning over on her bed all night, sleep eluded her. What were her options? Drugs or God’s intervention? Can she give her professed faith a little push? Could God fix this for her? Mary prayed most of the night asking God to normalize her blood pressure.
She remembered her covenant of healing with God and made a decision to believe God for a miraculous healing.
God honored Mary’s little faith.
She heard in her spirit to make just one dietary change which she did. Within 3 days Mary’s blood pressure was back to normal as confirmed by another medical check.
Result of Mary’s last BP check was 103/83.
Praise God!

What is a Miracle?….6
Amaka woke up to a terrible pain in her shoulder. The pain was so intense that she kept crying and crying.
She tried to pray but had to quickly round up. She decided to just lie down instead.
Then she heard a quiet voice speak to her and say “..be still and know the Salvation of the Lord” At first fear swept through her but she listened to the voice and tried to stay still.
After a while she decided to raise her hand a bit as the pain lessened. She wanted to just confirm the pain was really leaving her body. And to her surprise and delight the pain was TOTALLY GONE!!
She ran out of her room terrified.
Indeed the terribly excruciating pain was gone, just like that!
Our God works miracles.
Jesus Christ healed us several years ago.
The Bible tells us ‘we WERE healed by His stripes.
So anytime the Devil tries to shake our faith, we can stay still and know that Our God is God.
He healed us already.
Hallelujah.

What is a Miracle?…5
Emile is in his mid 70s. He recently came back to the Island from the USA. He had suffered a stroke and had to come home to recuperate.
To keep him active, his son bought him a goat to tend. Every morning he would take the goat to the pasture down the hilly farm road and in the evening bring it up again by his home. For the past 3years the goat had become like a child to him. The residents of his community knew Emile and his dear goat. He became especially friendly with a Christian couple (Mr & Mrs Bullen)who lived down the farm road.
One day Mrs Bullen was returning home when he met Emile all distraught. ….his goat had been stolen! This was on Friday. Mrs B got home and told her husband and they were both sad and prayed God to console Emile.
On Sunday for some unknown reason Mr B was eager to go to church. For a service that starts at 10am and takes him 15mins to get there, he left home at 8.30am! He met Emile on the road and Emile narrated to him how he lost his goat and the police’s ineptitude! Mr B was led to pray with Emile right there on the road and asked God to bring the goat to Emile!
An hour later Mrs B left for church and met Emile on the way but this time it was a joyful Emile. He told her that the goat had been found and how her husband prayed with him and fifteen minutes later a man brought back the goat to him!
Is that not a miracle? God is indeed interested in every detail of our lives!
He knows everything about us and He’s interested in all their details.

Peter is young undergraduate. A committed Christian who is passionate about the things of God.
Peter somehow, got entangled in Pornography.
He was so consumed by it he had it downloaded on his mobile phone.
It wasn’t only Peter’s spiritual life that was threatened, his academics suffered as his mind was fully overtaken by unguarded passions.
Peter prayed and cried, asking God to deliver him. He wanted to be liberated. He wanted control of his emotions, feelings, thoughts and actions. But several months passed and it seemed Peter’s answers were delayed.
One day, Peter decided he needed an intervention, he needed someone to talk to.
He wrote to Talk With Grace Obomanu Team. First the evil spirit of oppression was rebuked. Peter was prayed for, counselled and followed up.
Today, Peter is Campus Fellowship Head. He is doing great exploits for God and for His Kingdom.

What is a MIRACLE ?…..3
I just got a call from my aunt 5 minutes ago. She had gotten in a bus to town about 30minutes before. The roads on the Island are hilly, narrow and windy.
She said they got to a flat part of the road and noticed that the bus driver had slumped.
One of the passengers had to immediately step on the brake so all the passengers got out safe!
Apparently the driver was on dialysis!!
My aunt says they’re not sure if the driver is alive.
Miracles still happen.
The driver could have slumped when they were on a hill or some sharp corner and the bus could have flipped over the edge down a ravine or cliff!!!
God saved us.

What is a Miracle? -2
Sister F had just begun a new business that was thriving. That morning she went to the factory with all her savings and some money she borrowed to procure the goods.
While she was inside waiting her turn (there was a long line up of people) she heard the Holy Spirit tell her to go to her car, she wrestled a bit not wanting to lose her position in the queue, but obeyed.
On her way out she passed 9 young men by the door even looked one in the face. After a few minutes of staying in her car she decided to go back to the factory. The doors were locked and she had to knock several times before the door was opened, at that point she learned they had just been robbed by the nine men she had just passed by the doors!
The robbers stole everyone’s monies and phones. She would have lost everything but she didn’t because she obeyed the Lord!
Jehovah is our Defence and Shield!
Praise Him.

What is a Miracle?
Ruby is a young undergraduate from a poor home. Her parents were never married. So she grew up with her mum.
She could only go to the university because her uncle sponsored her. So many other personal needs were unattended to. She’d often go to and fro her lectures on an empty tank.
Ruby made an important decision to follow The Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. That decision had helped tide her over many storms in her young life. Like happened on this fateful day.
Ruby had no food in her room and had no money to buy anything. She wasn’t just hungry, she was upset with life and God. So this particular morning she knelt down, not to pray, but to give God an ultimatum:…’Lord, you have to SEND me food today or I will stay hungry!”
Ruby was resolute in her decision. She locked herself in, studying, sleeping and waiting for her meal from God. This was a very long day.
But just before dusk The Lord showed up.
He sent Ruby her meal. Her aunt was cooking that afternoon and had a strong urge to bring some food to Ruby. It was the first and the last time her aunt visited her in school.
Don’t tell me there’s no God.
He rules and reigns in the affairs of our life that we let Him into.
Expect a Miracle today.
TWGO Wow! Hallelujah
